Eliminating clutter, get organized, simplify your life and learn to take the time to slow down and appreciate the little things in life.

I used to be a stress cleaner. When I was stressed about something, I would clean the entire house. I never really fixed the problem or issue but it always made me feel better afterward. It gave me the time to think about whatever the situation was and get my house clean & organized in the process. I think simplifying your life is another way of not only living with only what you need, it balances the clutter and crap out of your life. Simplified!

Decide what things are necessary. The old saying, what you want or what you need. This will help you decide.

Go thru your wardrobe.  If it’s worn out, get rid of it. If it doesn’t fit anymore, get rid of it so someone else can wear it. If you’ve always meant to wear it but just never seem to find the occasion or reason, get rid of it. Simplify your closet to some basic outfits. No, you don’t have to have the biggest shoe collection on the block!

Stop buying new things you don’t need.  Only buy what is a necessity. Food is a necessity, a new pair of shoes is not.

Simplify your finances as much as possible by consolidating your debts and creating as few payments as possible each month. Create a budget, based on how much money you’ve got coming in every month, and calculate your bills. Stick to the plan and spending gets simplified.

Make your bed each and every day. It only takes five minutes and it can do wonders-This is the first thing I do after I get up and it really does help change your mood for the day!

For many people, having a little to-do-list or honey-do list for the day of items that need immediate attention makes it a whole lot simpler to remember and helps simplify your day. Try to stick to it as closely as possible.

Last but not least, at the end of the day, leave your stress at the door when walking into the house, try to “take 5”, sit down, close your eyes, take some deep cleansing breaths-it can help make all the difference in your stress levels and your ability to simplify your life and remain calm. Take the small step of spending quiet time, just sitting, in a comfortable space. Focus on your breathing. Relax your body and let your mind calm itself.
